This love is killing me

You get knocked down, you get back up, right?

That's life, indeed, John. I'll buy you a drink in Atlanta.

To that end, I spent some time tonight assembling poems for my third manuscript. The last few months have been so hectic I haven't been thinking much about the poems in the context of a book length manuscript.

But, lo and behold, they come out to 50 pages.

It's called One More Theory About Happiness.

Maybe I'll get lucky.

Jesus Christ! I have about twenty pages toward a second manuscript -- and that's about two or more years of writing.

I never said they were a good 50 pages!

Table #9 is where I'll be found.

Second round's on me, though I'll probably be ordering Pepsi.

Hah, me too. Or sweet tea.

What is your theory?

About happiness?

Does it exist?

Or is it merely myth?

Is it attainable?

Is it organic?

Is it like Dorothy at the end of Oz after her balloon flies away without her?

If I just click my ruby red heels three times and close my eyes, I'll find it in my backyard which is where it damned was all along?

Okay, Paul. Time out. Third manuscript? Sheesh!

I'll buy you a drink at AWP if you can find me at the book fair. I'll be biding my time between the Kundiman table and the Bellingham Review table.

Sorry about the multiples.

This happened on all the blogs I commented on last night. Not sure why. I didn't keep hitting the publish button or anything.

Ghost in the machine, I guess.

Oh, there is the scoop on the ms. Sorry. I didn't read back far enough. Congrats on it! I'm about to send The Rub out again.

I do like the title.
Be well.
