- Paul Guest is the author of four volumes of poetry and a memoir. His debut, The Resurrection of the Body and the Ruin of the World, was awarded the 2002 New Issues Poetry Prize. Not too much to read - it was horrifyingly interesting. . . I was in suspense on how far you'd let the fire go. And then laughed out loud when you include the droll sentence on the two Romanian men discussing how best to light you on fire. Not a problem most of us have faced, and certainly worth including in the memoir. Don't take it out. (Although I was confused in the beginning with how you fell - was there not someone to catch you? That was unclear to me.)
Damn, I missed it.
When I fell, it caught us both off guard. So someone was there, but they weren't able to brace against the knees buckling in time.
Aw, missed it. I'd like to read it. But then, me, nothing's too long. ;-) Please, put it back up, eh?
Ha! When I first read that I thought that it said, 'I have a kitten crawling around IN me.' Which I guess would be pretty cool too...now that I think about it...
