City

Well, I had planned to be in Austin, but it didn't work out.

I'm hating it.

I hear you, Paul! My eyes did perk up though when I received my proofs from ALR and saw that you and I are going to be in the same issue. How cool!

All the COOLEST people are missing AWP this year. We'll have our own party while they're all gone. ;)

I know, Ginger; I saw that too. Very cool. I'm looking forward to that issue and reading your poem.

Well, I'm in Austin, and I can tell you that you already missed out on a conversation at the first event about (no joke) the "ethics of postmodernism." A reading tomorrow night for a new anthology is being held at a place called (no joke) "Ego's."

What are you missing, other than me?

Paul, I'm looking forward to reading yours too! Since ALR is in Texas, I hear *they're* at AWP. So our poems got to go at least. I hope our poems are having a lot fun, and not drinking too much. The last time I let a poem go anywhere without me, it came back with an STD. Do you know how hard it is to get a poem to take its antibiotics?

I know what you mean, Ginger! They're louts, those poems are...

paul—
received my new copy of the book. promptly had it swiped by a friend of mine who had read some of your stuff online. hope this is some small consolation for not being in austin—that i can't seem to keep your poems in my possession for all the hungry eyes.

As needed, man, I can hook you up with more copies! Thank you for spreading the good word....

Great fun here in Austin: you're missed. I was hoping to meet you as I saw you were scheduled on a panel. Ah well, so it goes. Next time, mayhaps....
