Radio, Radio

About a month or so ago, I was interviewed by Dick Gordon, host of The Story, a public radio program produced by American Public Media, who also do Garrison Keillor's show. I'm not sure I can stand listening to myself, but the interview airs today. Check your local listings, or listen to the stream here.

I had a great time and thanks to everyone.

I heard "The Story" today and then found your blog. I love your style and what you have to say. I will definitely be getting your books, and I don't buy books that often. :) I'm a singer/songwriter in Cincinnati and I think you may appreciate my music. If you get a chance and would like to hear what I have so far, I posted my URL in the space provided. I love feedback! :) Thanks for your work ~ Harmony Gullette

Caught part of the NPR interview. I really like the one poem I heard and am looking forward to reading your work. I teach poetry to young people in schools and in the community. I am often trying to persuade students that poetic inspiration can be found anywhere - even a h.s. bio class!

Warm regards from the Windy City,

We just started getting The Story here in Cincinnati. I work in multiple schools here and was lucky enough to be traveling across the city during your interview. I got into my Xterra to "spinal fluid coming out my nose" and then had a driveway moment--I couldn't get out until the end. Loved the tone in "Traveling" and plan to purchase and read more of your work. Thanks.

I enjoyed listening to you very much. I love your poetry. I heard your interview today and found your blog after the interview. Congratulations on getting your books published. I heard what you said about not knowing which career choice would be the hardest. I think writing. :)

Paul, Thank you for sharing your poetry. I was fortunate to catch it on the road tonight as i traveled home from a meeting in St. Paul. The Story was on this evening on Minnesota Public Radio.

I found your poetry, your story, and your authentic, relaxed style inspirational. You are a courageous writer. i appreciated your comments on having to give up some privacy when your parents were able to access your poems.

Congratulations on the new publication. I look forward to reading your work, including the memoir.

Best wishes - Karen

Hi Paul,

I drove home in the dark, listening to you story, after a long day of studying in the law library. I got home and sat in the car in the driveway listening to the interview until it was over. What a charming interesting man you are. And talented. I loved Pinocchio poem. And the one you read about being dropped in the aisle, and the prayers offered, and being sad about Lupus. So funny - and evocative.

What a delightful surprise to be carried home on your words. Thanks. Once finals are over - I'm buying your book and relaxing.

Best,

M
