Saturday

A couple of weeks ago there was a cricket inside my bathroom wall. It was a mystery at the time. Now I'm thinking it must have come over from this blog and all its recent silence.

Well, I'm back. Or I am for today. A lot has been going on and, really, all of it has been good. Word from Ecco is that My Index of Slightly Horrifying Knowledge will be back from the printer this week. Meaning I should have my first copies within a few days. And that's very exciting. There are a few other things afoot with it that I can't quite mention.

I haven't seen the Poets & Writers article yet. Is it out yet?

What's new? What have I missed?

Yes, indeed, the P & W article is out. My copy came in the mail today, so I thought to look up your blog. Congratulations on your publications, and I look forward to reading your work. I enjoyed "One More Theory About Happiness" from the article very much.

Dude, I don't even know who you are and I'm glad you're back. Seriously, I just wandered over from C. Dale's avoiding the muse and am awfully glad I did. And your poems are so good they are KILLING ME with envy and happiness. So, um, weird as this is, welcome back.

Welcome back to the blogging boomerang, Paul. We missed you. And it's quite clear that you've been busy doing remarkable things. I suppose the silence is okay, especially with all the shiny plums at your door.

Jeez, Paul. There is Toni Morrison, right next to you in P&W. You is keepin' fine company these days.

I thought they did a good job on the feature; I hope it brings new readers your way.

And welcome back here to this space, though it feels weird to welcome you back to your own place.

Congratulations on everything—the books the engagement, the continued accolades, the P&W piece.

Jaysus, Mary & Joseph. It's about time you returned. I was about to call the college to find out if you were showing up THERE. But really, so glad to see you back here and doing so well also. I can't wait for my pre-ordered copy of the book to arrive!

Dear Paul,
Glad to see you are blogging again! What with the Ecco Press contracts, the Poets & Writers feature, the publications in shiny, shiny magazines - well - I was beginning to think you might have abandoned the blog!
Best and congrats, or "Shine on you crazy Diamond!"
