Do you know you are my sunshine?

I find some of my best ideas for poems arrise when I go for a walk. Yesterday was a nice day, sunny though not quite warm, so I went for a stroll. I was lost in thought, thinking about words and poems and lunch, kind of like the moment in Blazing Saddles when Hedley Lamarr says, "My mind is aglow with whirling, transient nodes of thought careening through a cosmic vapor of invention." I noticed a truck had pulled alongside me and stopped. A teenaged kid with scruffy red hair was smiling at me.

"Do you work at Wal-Mart?"

"Excuse me?

"Do you work at Wal-Mart?"

"No."

"Oh, there's somebody else in a wheelchair that does work at Wal-Mart. I thought it might be you."

"Sorry, it's not me."

"I'm in a wheelchair too."

"Ah, I see."

"I'm Terry."

"Hi, Terry, I'm Paul, it was good to meet you, I'll be seeing you."

What can I say, we all look alike.

You, Paul, are the new stereotype.

I think you need a few Paul Guest random facts in celebration. Please note that I am stealing these from Chuck Norris, as my mind is numb from being at work. Don't worry, I'll keep them PG.

Paul Guest sleeps with a night light. Not because Paul Guest is afraid of the dark, but because the dark is afraid of Paul Guest.

Paul Guest doesn't read books. He stares them down until he gets the information he wants.

Paul Guest frequently donates blood to the Red Cross...just not his own.

Paul Guest does not use pick-up lines...he simply says, "Now."

Paul Guest can unscramble an egg.

Paul Guest doesn't have to stop bullets, because they know better.

There's no such thing as a tornado... Paul Guest just hates Trailer Parks.

There ya go...
