Look how they shine for you

Listening to a lovely cover of Coldplay's "Yellow" by Petra Haden with Bill Frisell, while CNN mutely loops the news from London. The disconnect is apparent.

Not feeling so great today. I didn't sleep well, too cold, so now I'm foggy, slo-mo. And it's grey, cool, windy out. O for sun like a girl, girl like a sun, to warm these bones.

The London bombings are absolutely surreal. I was reading an article about the bombings in Spain last night, so waking up to hear about similar, cowardly blasts in London was bizarre to me. It feels like something of a waking dream, in a way... (Cool blog, by the way. Too bad you moved over to Blogger! I wish I'd found your site sooner -- maybe I could've convinced you to move over to http://www.ChattaBlogs.com instead -- free blogs for Chattanoogans!)

Write the poem, then, for me, and I will write on for you. Though it may take me years.

I found your blog through another one. Congratulations on your books and also for a neat blog. Coldplay...es, some accompaniment to the bombings. Randy Newman would've been even eerier. What a horror there.
